Ebonyi Man Treks 600km to Thank Governor, Receives ₦10m Reward

An Ebonyi native, Comrade Jeremiah Obaji, has captured public attention after completing a remarkable 17-day trek spanning over 600km from Ikorodu, Lagos, to Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.

Obaji embarked on the journey to personally thank Governor Francis Nwifuru for his efforts in restoring peace to the troubled Effium community in Ebonyi. Despite facing fatigue, hunger, and blisters along the way, he successfully completed the long trek.

In recognition of his dedication and loyalty, Governor Nwifuru welcomed him warmly and presented him with a ₦10 million cash gift. The governor praised Obaji’s resilience and assured him of continued support towards sustaining peace in the state.
