The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced that it generated an impressive ₦3.7 trillion in the first half of 2025, surpassing its budgetary target by 12.5%.

The revenue figure also marks a 25% increase compared to the same period last year, reflecting significant progress in the government’s drive for economic stability and improved fiscal performance.

Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, attributed the success to key reforms, including the ongoing National Single Window initiative, which has enhanced efficiency and transparency in trade processes.

He emphasized that while this milestone is commendable, the government remains focused on deeper modernization and digital transformation of customs operations to achieve the ambitious ₦10 trillion annual revenue target set by the administration.

This record-breaking performance is expected to bolster government spending on critical sectors, including infrastructure, education, and healthcare, while also strengthening Nigeria’s economic resilience
