Gov Abiodun Appoints 1,200 Political Assistants in Ogun
Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has appointed 1,200 political assistants as part of efforts to deepen democratic participation and strengthen grassroots governance across the state.
The announcement was made in a statement by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Hon. Kayode Akinmade, who described the move as a strategic step to broaden access to the dividends of democracy.
According to the statement, the new appointees will serve as change agents and enhance civic engagement by articulating the needs of their wards and providing feedback between the government and the people. The initiative covers all 236 wards in Ogun State, with five assistants selected from each ward.
Governor Abiodun emphasized that the appointments reflect his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and closer interaction with the grassroots.
