Morrissey Cancels US Shows After Death Threat

British singer Morrissey has cancelled two scheduled concerts in the United States after receiving a credible death threat linked to his recent tour stop in Ottawa, Canada.

Authorities revealed that a 26-year-old Ottawa man, identified as Noah Castellano, was arrested and charged with making online threats to kill the artist. The post, made on Bluesky earlier this month, described plans to shoot Morrissey during his Ottawa performance. Although the show went ahead under heightened security, Morrissey’s team decided to cancel his Boston and Connecticut dates “out of an abundance of caution.”

The suspect has since been released on bail, and police continue to monitor the situation. Fans who purchased tickets for the cancelled shows will receive refunds.

Morrissey, whose career spans decades from his early days with The Smiths to a long solo run, has not yet commented directly, but his management stressed that the safety of the artist, band, and audience remains
