Rivers Sole Administrator Declares Tinubu’s Mandate Fulfilled
The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral (Rtd) Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, has officially announced the completion of the mandate given to him by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Ibas made the declaration on Friday at the Government House in Port Harcourt during the presentation of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) report. He stated that the president’s directive to stabilize the state, restore democratic institutions, and conduct credible local government elections had been successfully carried out.
According to him, the peaceful conduct of grassroots elections and the swearing-in of elected chairmen and councilors across all 23 local government areas marked the fulfillment of Tinubu’s instructions. He emphasized that the exercise was free, fair, and credible, adding that Rivers State had now returned to democratic governance at the local level.
