QADC Faction Rejects INEC’s Recognition of David Mark’s Leadership

The crisis rocking the African Democratic Congress (ADC) deepened this week as a faction of the party dismissed the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) recognition of Senator David Mark as National Chairman.

INEC had updated its records to list Mark and his executives as the official leaders of the party, a move seen as a major boost for his camp. Alongside Mark, Rauf Aregbesola was recognised as National Secretary, while other allies were confirmed in key positions.

However, opposing factions within the ADC, led by Dumebi Kachikwu and Nafiu Bala, have rejected the decision, describing it as illegitimate and contrary to the party’s constitution. They insist Mark’s leadership emerged through irregular processes and have vowed to challenge the recognition in court.
