Bauchi Approves ₦6.5bn for Township Road Dualisation
The Bauchi State Government has approved the sum of ₦6.5 billion for the dualisation of major township roads within the state capital, a project aimed at easing traffic congestion and boosting economic activities.
Governor Bala Mohammed, who disclosed this after the State Executive Council meeting on Sunday, said the road expansion project reflects his administration’s commitment to infrastructural development and urban renewal.
According to him, the dualisation will cover strategic roads within Bauchi metropolis, with modern drainage systems, streetlights, and pedestrian walkways included in the design to ensure durability and safety.
The governor noted that the project is part of a broader urban development agenda designed to transform Bauchi into a modern and business-friendly city. He assured residents that due process would be followed, with reputable contractors engaged to deliver the project on schedule.
Residents have welcomed the move, describing it as timely, considering the rising vehicular traffic in the capital city.
