Oba of Benin Declares Two-Week Fasting and Prayer to Ward Off Evil in Edo

The Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, has declared a two-week period of fasting and prayer across Edo State to ward off evil and promote peace. The spiritual exercise will run daily from 6 am to 6 pm, between September 15 and 28, 2025. Rooted in ancient Benin traditions, the call is aimed at ensuring protection, tranquility, and abundant blessings for the people.

The Oba urged all indigenes and residents of Edo to participate fully in the exercise, stressing that unity in prayer and fasting will bring peace, divine protection, and prosperity to the state.
