Nigeria to Receive $1.75 Billion World Bank Loan, $500 Million Earmarked for Agriculture
Nigeria is expected to receive a total of $1.75 billion in loans before the end of 2025, earmarked for several key development projects across agriculture, health, digital infrastructure, and MSME finance.
The World Bank is set to approve a new $1.75 billion loan package for Nigeria by the end of 2025, with $500 million specifically allocated to boost the country’s agricultural sector. The funds will support the Sustainable Agricultural Value-Chains for Growth project, aimed at increasing productivity and strengthening rural economies.
The agricultural loan is currently under concept review, with final approval expected by December 11, 2025. It will focus on improving value chains, reducing food insecurity, and enhancing export capacity.
