Tension in Osun as PDP Petitions IGP, DSS Against APC Senator

The political climate in Osun State has grown tense after the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leadership petitioned the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the Department of State Services (DSS) against Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, who recently defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a petition dated September 5 and acknowledged on September 8, PDP State Chairman Sunday Bisi and Director of Administration Mustapha Sikiru accused the senator of intimidation, harassment, and threats to life. They allege that Fadahunsi attempted to cow party officials following their legal challenge to his defection.

The PDP has already filed multiple suits against lawmakers who defected, arguing that such moves contravene the constitution. The petition urged security agencies to investigate the senator’s alleged conduct and ensure the safety of PDP leaders in the state.
