BREAKING NEWS: NCAA Summons Airlines Over Flight Disruptions, Refunds

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has summoned all domestic airlines to an emergency meeting in Abuja following rising complaints of flight disruptions, cancellations, and delays across the country.

The regulatory body said the meeting, scheduled for later this week, will address concerns over poor service delivery, rising passenger grievances, and non-compliance with refund policies.

According to an NCAA spokesperson, the authority has received “an alarming surge in reports” from passengers who were either stranded at airports or denied timely refunds after flight cancellations.

“The NCAA will no longer tolerate any form of negligence or disregard for passenger rights. Airlines must be accountable and transparent in their operations,” the statement read.

Industry analysts suggest the talks may lead to stricter enforcement of compensation and refund policies, as well as possible sanctions for defaulting carriers.

The meeting is expected to bring together airline executives, aviation stakeholders, and consumer protection officials.
