Female Students Arrested for Assaulting, and Stripping Fellow Student Over Alleged Relationship Dispute

Three female students of the Federal University, Otuoke (FUO), have been arrested after a viral video showed them violently assaulting and stripping fellow student, Nancy Wilfred, over allegations she had a relationship with one of their boyfriends.

The attack, which occurred on August 29, was premeditated. Nancy was lured to a location near campus, where she was locked in, physically assaulted, stripped, and humiliated while being recorded. She suffered multiple injuries, including suspected internal bleeding and trauma.

The main suspect, identified as “Kadi,” a Social Work student at FUO, was arrested along with her accomplices. They face charges including assault, abduction, attempted murder, and cybercrime-related offenses.

There has been public outrage after reports emerged that one of the suspects was allegedly released by police shortly after arrest.

Police investigations are ongoing, and the suspects are expected to be formally charged in court. The case continues to spark national conversations around gender-based violence and abuse of power.
