BREAKING: FG Allocates ₦1.8 Billion for Chibok Girls’ Education, Enrols 68 at Atiku-Owned University
The Federal Government has announced the allocation of ₦1.8 billion towards the education of the freed Chibok schoolgirls, nearly a decade after their abduction by Boko Haram insurgents.
As part of the rehabilitation and reintegration initiative, 68 of the girls have been enrolled at the American University of Nigeria (AUN), Yola, a private institution owned by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
According to government officials, the funds will cover tuition, accommodation, and other essential educational needs, ensuring the girls receive quality learning opportunities after enduring years of trauma.
The move has sparked discussions nationwide, with many commending the government’s intervention while others question the sustainability of such high-cost investments.
Officials reiterated that the gesture is not only about education but also about restoring hope, rebuilding lives, and securing the future of the affected girls.
