The ongoing clash between Nigerian businessman and cryptocurrency mogul Linus Williams (Blord) and social media activist Martins Vincent Otse (VeryDarkMan, or VDM) has taken a dramatic turn, what started as a series of online call-outs has escalated into a full-blown saga, culminating in Instagram permanently disabling Blord’s account, which boasted over 3 million followers.

Who Are Blord and VDM?

Blord is a prominent Nigerian entrepreneur and philanthropist, best known as the founder of Blord Group, a company involved in cryptocurrency trading, real estate, and tech innovations.  He rose to fame through his lavish lifestyle displays and business ventures, often positioning himself as a self-made success story from humble beginnings. On the other hand, VDM is a vocal online activist who uses his platform to expose alleged scams, injustices, and celebrity misdeeds. Describing himself as an “online police” rather than a traditional activist, VDM has built a reputation for fearless critiques, often targeting influencers and businesses he believes are exploiting the public.
Their paths crossed in a way that highlighted the tensions between wealth, influence, and accountability in Nigeria’s digital space.

The Origins of the Feud

The rivalry between Blord and VDM traces back to mid-2024, when Blord faced legal troubles. In July 2024, Blord was arrested by Nigerian police on allegations of internet fraud and terrorism funding, though he was later released.  VDM, known for his unfiltered commentary, had previously called out Blord during this period, accusing him of questionable business practices. Blord, in turn, retaliated by criticizing VDM publicly, setting the stage for ongoing animosity.

The feud simmered until recent months, when it reignited over personal and professional jabs. VDM accused Blord of various misdeeds, including exploiting vulnerable people, while Blord dismissed VDM as a troublemaker seeking clout.  This back-and-forth played out across social media platforms, drawing in fans and critics alike.

Recent Escalation: The iPhone Controversy and Personal Attacks

The saga took a dramatic turn in October 2025 with the “iPhone XR to 17 Pro Max” scandal. VDM exposed what he claimed was a scam by Blord, alleging that Blord was advertising and selling modified iPhone XR devices disguised as the latest iPhone 17 models.    This revelation sparked widespread outrage online, with users accusing Blord of deceptive marketing practices. Blord defended himself, but the damage to his reputation was evident as the story went viral.

In retaliation, Blord escalated the personal attacks. Reports emerged that Blord offered money in exchange for compromising material on VDM, leading to a leaked video or images of VDM in a nude state (often referred to euphemistically as “noodles” in online discussions).    Blord allegedly paid 500,000 Naira to obtain and post this content on his Instagram account, further intensifying the feud.  Additionally, a screenshot surfaced showing VDM’s sister’s bank details, which some claimed Blord used to manipulate public perception.   

The Fatal Mistake: Posting Prohibited Content

Blord’s decision to share the explicit content proved to be his undoing. Instagram, owned by Meta, has strict community guidelines prohibiting nudity and explicit material. By posting the video, Blord violated these rules, prompting swift action from the platform. Users and observers noted that the post was a clear breach, and reports flooded in.

Instagram’s Response and the Account Disable

Just days after the post went live, Instagram permanently deleted Blord’s account on October 16, 2025. The account, which had amassed over 3 million followers, was removed due to the publication of prohibited content.  This move left Blord without one of his primary platforms for business promotion and personal branding. Social media reactions were mixed, with some celebrating it as a victory for VDM and others lamenting the loss of a major influencer’s voice.
