A fire outbreak in Lagos threw many lives into danger, but the swift response of residents helped prevent a greater tragedy. Among those who rushed to the scene was Ebuka Okoye, who shared his experience of rescuing people trapped inside the burning building.

According to Okoye, makeshift rescue efforts were set up by residents, including placing foam on the ground to cushion those jumping from higher floors. While some were saved, he recounted with sadness that one person missed the foam and fell to the ground, losing his life in the process.
