Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Warns National Assembly Clerk, Demands Immediate Resumption After Suspension

Natasha Threatens Legal Action Against National Assembly Clerk, Demands Resumption
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of Kogi Central has issued a stern ultimatum to the Clerk of the National Assembly, insisting on her immediate resumption after the expiration of her six-month suspension.
Through her lawyer, Michael Numa (SAN), Natasha argued that the suspension, which began on March 6, 2025, legally ended on September 6, 2025. She accused the Clerk of unlawfully preventing her return and threatened to initiate contempt proceedings if she is not allowed to resume by Monday, September 15.
The lawmaker also cited a Federal High Court ruling that described her suspension as unconstitutional, though the Senate leadership maintains the matter remains subjudice. They insist her resumption can only follow either a resolution by the Senate or the conclusion of ongoing judicial processes.
