UNIZIK Lecturer Wins Atlantic Fellowship in Brain Health

Dr. Chukwudi Michael Okoye, a lecturer in the Department of Theatre and Film Studies at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), has been awarded the Atlantic Fellowship for Equity in Brain Health.

The fellowship, hosted by the Global Brain Health Institute at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland, and the University of California, San Francisco, USA, brings together leading researchers worldwide to advance work in dementia care and brain health.Dr. Okoye, who also serves as Faculty Career Officer in UNIZIK’s Faculty of Arts, was selected through a competitive process. His research builds on his PhD concept, RehabDramatics—a drama therapy approach that uses performing arts to support psychosocial rehabilitation and healthier cognitive engagement.

The Acting Vice-Chancellor of UNIZIK, Prof. Carol Chinyelugo Arinze-Umobi, congratulated him on the achievement and residency at Trinity College Dublin, describing it as a mark of excellence for both the scholar and the institution.
