FG Locks Door on New Universities for 7 Years

The Federal Government has announced that “no new public universities, polytechnics, or colleges of education will be created in Nigeria until 2032”.

Reason? According to them, the ones we already have are struggling with poor funding, overcrowding, and lack of proper facilities. So instead of adding more, the government says it will focus on fixing the existing schools.

This move is already sparking mixed reactions as some say it’s the right call, others argue it will limit access for millions of students dreaming of higher education.
