Kano Emerges Best Performing State in 2025 NECO Results

Kano State has recorded the best performance in the 2025 Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) conducted by the National Examinations Council (NECO).

According to the results, over 60 percent of candidates from the state secured at least five credits, including Mathematics and English Language, while more than 80 percent passed five subjects irrespective of the two core subjects.

Education officials attributed the feat to ongoing reforms such as the distribution of free uniforms and textbooks, recruitment of qualified teachers, and the renovation of dilapidated classrooms across the state.

The government says it remains committed to sustaining the momentum to keep Kano among the leading states in national examinations.
