2025 UTME: JAMB Uncovers High-Tech Malpractice, Blames Parents and CBT Operators

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has uncovered fresh cases of sophisticated examination malpractice in the ongoing 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

In a statement released Sunday, the Board revealed that some candidates employed advanced gadgets and software to cheat during the Computer-Based Test (CBT). Shockingly, JAMB noted that the malpractice was aided by certain parents and compromised CBT center operators, who allegedly provided candidates with illegal technical support.

JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, described the development as “a dangerous trend that undermines the integrity of Nigeria’s education system.” He warned that those found guilty — including parents and CBT officials — would face prosecution.

According to the Board, scores of results have already been withheld pending further investigations. JAMB also assured Nigerians that its upgraded monitoring technology would expose all fraudulent activities.

The Board further appealed to parents to stop pressuring their children into malpractice, stressing that such acts only jeopardize their academic future.
